ABOUT OPEN WATER SWIM CLINIC |

- Help you understand your movements in the water and increase stroke efficiency
- Increase your confidence level in Open Water Swimming
- Show you sighting and breathing techniques for Open Water Swimming
- Increase your awareness of how to navigate efficiently in a race
- Show you drills and exercises in order to become more comfortable in a crowded Open Water Swim
- Let you understand the tricks of a good tri start
- Discuss how to put on and take off a wetsuit without losing time and energy
- Practice these newly learned skills in a finishing swim

| Description of levels: |
Open to all abilities. We recommend you are comfortable in the water and can swim freestyle for 800 yards or more. This clinic is ideal for athletes participating in Sprint or Olympic distance triathlons, and open water swims.

Note: A detailed outline with description of meeting point and time will be send out three business days before the event.
**Individual pre-paid lessons and 5 hour swim package with Stefan Bill cannot be applied towards the Open Water Clinic. If for any reason the Clinic is cancelled, you will be notified up to 3 hours before the event. In the event of cancellation, you may defer registration to another Open Water Swim Clinic in 2009, or receive store credit.**

ABOUT SBR SWIM COACH STEFAN BILL |
|
Stefan Bill is the SBR Multisports head swim coach. He is a Total Immersion Senior Coach who is certified to teach all four strokes. Stefan has an extensive swimming background and several years of coaching experience using SBR’s swim trainer. He describes the endless pool as “a great training tool” for coaching swimmers and triathletes of all levels.
Prior to joining the SBR staff, Stefan coached an age group swim team in Switzerland with great success, with most of his athletes placing in the top 5 at national competitions. He was also was on the Total Immersion Europe GmbH weekend workshops coaching team in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from 2002 to 2004 where he led the water sessions. At these workshops he taught all levels and ages of swimmers including phobic, recreational and competitive swimmers as well as triathletes.
After he moved to the United States in 2005, Stefan began competing again and achieved the status of a United States Masters Swimmer All-American (USMS) in 2005 for the 400 Individual Medley as well as the status of a USMS Relay All-American in 2005 and 2006. Stefan has won several medals at International Masters Events including IGLA (International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics) in 2005 as well as at the Gay Games in 2006 in Chicago . In 2007, he finished second in the nation in the USMS 1-mile Open Water Championship.
In addition to his personal swimming accomplishments, Stefan has held Total Immersion Weekend workshops in New Paltz, New York , has organized Open Water Clinics in New York State and helped swimmers of all ages and levels achieve their goals. Stefan has the ability to teach an individual and efficient stroke to each athlete through his enthusiastic and passionate teaching style. Even with his life-long training and swimming experience, he says “when I jump in the water, all that I want to do is to improve my form and make my stroke even more efficient, so I am able to swim longer, stronger and faster than ever before.”
SBR Multisports offers 1-hour individual or group lessons coached by Stefan, as well as clinics, stroke evaluation and video analysis (coming soon) using SBR’s endless pool.
