TIPS FOR RUNNING THE NYC TRI
by SBR Tri Club Ambassador Sascha Kreideweis
- As you roll down the ramp off the highway coming into the transition area off your bike, stand up in your pedals and stretch your calf muscles to relieve some of the tension that built up during the ride.
- Undo your shoes on the flat part of the path by the river after turning into Riverside Park , not sooner. Don’t undo them on the downhill ramp or while stretching your calves. These sections are either really steep or in bad condition.
- Once you leave T2, run with an extremely short stride in order to loosen your legs. Especially when running up to 72nd Street , go slow with short steps (even walk up). The first mile is all uphill!!!! The goal is to get into your groove as quickly as possible.
- Throw some cold water over your head, or even on your legs, to increase the blood flow again (be careful not to pour it on your shoes).
- When you approach Harlem Hill from W 102nd St , don’t go all out to the top of the hill. You want to reserve some of your energy for the kill on the next two inclines.
- From E 110th St. to E 102nd St. , keep the momentum from the downhill going as far as possible and really work the uphill. Do exactly the same again from E 97th St. to E 90th St.
- There is no holding back anymore after you have passed through the north end of the park. Once you get to E 90th St. , you have less than 1.5 miles to go and it’s all downhill!

Here is your opportunity to relocate to New York City and work full time in the field you love: swimming, biking and running. If you're interested in this opportunity to live in NYC and be involved in the triathlon / multisport community, then read further. We are currently seeking a full time sales associate to work in our retail store, located in the center of Manhattan, NYC, next to Central Park. Compensation for moving expenses may be available.
The position we are looking to fill is a full time sales associate position. However, we are not looking for just a sales associate. In an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and thriving environment like ours, employees are given a lot of responsibility and can expand their job description as it best suits their talent and interest. This is an opportunity to enhance your career by becoming a team leader, implementing your creative ideas, having a direct impact on the company's bottom line and excelling in client relations. Innovation and differentiation drive our business: we were the first store in NYC catering to triathletes and multisport athletes. The passion and enthusiasm we have for triathlon shows in our relentless pursuit of the best, from superior service we provide our customers, to our commitment to give back to our sport, to our concern for the environment.
SBR Multisports is an industry leader and we are a competitive bunch, but not with each other. Our staff is a close-knit group who mutually enjoys and respects each other. As a team, we are dedicated to the promotion of the sport and the latest innovations. We are looking for someone who will fit in with our demanding but fun work environment. Many of us ride and run together and we even took a company-sponsored trip to Universal Studios, Florida to celebrate the yearlong successes.
Job Description:
The sales associate works with customers to identify and sell the products that best fit the customer's needs, while promoting multisports such as cycling, running and swimming. The sales associate also stocks the floor, assists in inventory reports, cleans and performs other duties required to keep the sales floor beautiful and the products readily available.

Must be available to work at least one day during the weekend and have a flexible schedule.
If you share our passion and devotion for triathlon and have relevant experience, we encourage you to contact us and join our team. Send your resume and cover letter to. Check out our website at. We look forward to hearing from you!
