Thursday Night Lecture Series: Bob Nelson - Core Strength Exercises to Improve Triathlon Performance 7:00 PM |
|
If you think you don't need good core strength to finish a triathlon, think again! Core strength will help you swim a straighter line, have more power on the bike, and a faster, more fluid push-off in the run. Core strength refers to the muscles of your abs and back and their ability to support your spine and keep your body stable and balanced. At this interactive clinic, you will learn how to strengthen your core, reduce back pain and get strong abs.
Bob Nelson and Amy McGorry are licensed physical therapists at H&D Physical Therapy in NYC. They are coming to SBR Multisports to enlighten you about the importance of core strength and show you exercises that will help you build a strong foundation for triathlon training. They will demonstrate about a dozen exercises using Physioballs and Therabands to help you increase balance, stability, and overall coordination. Please come dressed to work out if you would like to participate in the exercises.
This is a FREE event. Please RSVP to alison@sbrshop.com.

Team Polar Educational Clinic 10:30 AM |
|
Led by Polar Tech Rep Wayne Vartabedian and Team Polar Athletes Chris Martin, Jim (clyde) Maxfield, and Eyal Maor
Come out and learn more about Polar heart rate monitors! Polar and SBR Multisports have joined together to provide you with an educational opportunity to learn how training with heart rate monitors can aid in your performance. More specifically learn why HRM's are important and how you can integrate them into your training.
To reach your competitive goals, you need to train at the right intensity.
* Heart rate is the only accurate measurement of your intensity or your exertion level.
* A Polar HRM is the easiest and most accurate way to continuously measure your heart rate.
After the clinic, Team Polar athletes will be initiating "test runs/rides" with some of the following Polar products: RS200sd, CS200cad, RS400sd and CS400. Whether you are new to the Polar HRM or a professional athlete with specific questions, we invite everyone to join. Take advantage of this opportunity to try out the Polar products first-hand and have all your questions answered.
