SBR THURSDAY NIGHT EVENT SERIES
 
SBR Multisports is hosting a series of Thursday night events including sports movies and guest speakers. This is a great way to get involved in the triathlon community, meet triathletes, and learn valuable information about injury prevention, sports conditioning, and more as we approach the triathlon season. We will be visited by physical & massage therapists, doctors, motivational speakers, and triathletes from all over the country to speak about massage therapy, Chinese medicine, body tuning, and injury prevention including Rotator Cuff and I T Band Syndrome.

Thursday Night Movie Series: "A Sunday In Hell"    7:00PM

"A Sunday In Hell" is a powerful documentary film of the battle between Merckx, De Vlaeminck, Martens and Moser, some of the greatest cyclists of all time. Highly acclaimed Danish filmmaker Jorgen Leth brings you the drama of Paris-Roubaix in a film that became a foreign classic in the US . It is a classic psychological and dramatic study of what it means to race in a Spring Classic. Run Time 95 minutes.

Thursday Night Lecture Series: Sister Madonna    7:00PM

Madonna Buder is a Catholic nun and accomplished triathlete from Spokane , Washington . She is coming to SBR Multisports to talk about her life experience. She is well known in the triathlon community for athletic accomplishments, and has completed over 200 triathlons including thirteen Ironman-distance triathlons. At the 2006 Hawaii Ironman, at age 76, she became the oldest woman ever to complete the race, finishing with a time of 16:59:03. During her sporting career, she has worked hard at also raising money for various charities. She is an inspiration to the triathlon community.

Thursday Night Movie Series: "Overcoming"   7.00 pm

One of the best cycling films in decades. Danish filmmaker Tomas Gislason spent last year's cycling season, including the Tour de France, capturing the joys and sorrows, the triumphs and the disappointments, the dogged pursuit of endurance and the emotional highs and lows of the team members and directeur sportif Bjarne Riis, whose impact on the sport continues significantly after his career as a top cyclist. The film, aptly titled "Overcoming", presents in moving yet excruciating detail the pain and glory that characterize one of the world's most popular sports. Run Time 105 minutes.

Thursday Night Lecture Series:
Dr. Marc Bochner: Injury Patterns and Prevention in Triathletes 7:00PM

Dr. Marc Bochner of Bochner Chiropractic Care is coming to SBR Multisports to speak about patterns of injury in triathletes. How to recognize the earliest signs of injury, treatment strategies, and implementing prevention into your training will be covered. This is an important time of the year to use this information. Dr. Bochner is Board Certified in Sports Injuries and Active Release Techniques, has treated many local triathletes from recreational to elite, and is a volunteer doctor at Ironman Lake Placid each summer. He competed in his first multisport event in 1989 and still competes in running and multisport events.
